This wasn’t a great book… it was very poorly written which made it harder to feel in the world because I kept noticing how bad the writing was. Also, the spice didn’t do it for me and it really bothered me that Lucian took their relationship public without Dahlia’s consent. And used pain to push her to disclose her rape. Plus the spice being so pain centric is not for me. Lots of situations that made me strongly dislike the MMC and the FMC was so dumb and naive. And the ending felt rushed. Definitely not worth the time.

I downloaded this one on KU after seeing a promo reel on Instagram. I reallyyyy wanted to love it, but it just didn’t happen.
The concepts were absolutely there, and if there was just a bit more development of the character’s relationship I think I would have enjoyed this book a lot more. We had almost zero scenes (outside of the smut) that made me believe they were in love by the end.
It also ended very abruptly, and the second book doesn’t follow the same characters. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be continuing the series.
