I really like this picture book biography series, and this is a great addition. The author mentions that Steve Jobs was adopted, which is great for kids with similar backgrounds, and she shows how he developed his technological interests and abilities over time. This book is a great introduction to his life, and will also teach kids about how rapidly technology has changed, from computers that take up entire rooms to devices that we can hold in the palms of our hands. This book invites curiosity and wonder, includes brief but adequate representation of Jobs's religious beliefs, and can encourage children who feel frustrated with school.
As another reviewer notes, this book could send mixed messages by encouraging children to devalue education. However, even though that is a valid concern, this book also shows that kids who are not comfortable in traditional educational environments are not destined to be failures, but can learn, explore, and succeed outside of the classroom.
Overall, this was a four star biography for me, but I am giving it an extra star for how well it represents both Jobs's life and the development of technology. This is a great resource for children who are not familiar with this part of history, because in addition to telling a life story, it also shows the growth of the digital revolution and provides a great example of entrepreneurship and creativity.
I received a temporary digital copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

The 'Little People, Big Dreams' çoncept of books are an excellent idea of how to introduce people such as Steve Jobs to youngsters.
The author gave us a wonderful introduction to the man who along with his best friend, has changed computers and telecommunications.
I learned something new as well reading this beautifully illustrated book that the founding father of Apple or Apple Macintosh as it once was; was adopted.
As I said, I love the idea of these books and think they are a must have for schools and at home to encourage the search of knowledge that is so important for children.
Thank you to Netgalley for the eARC of this excellent fount of information.

Not my favorite book from this collection, but it's probably because Steve Jobs was such a complex individual that it is hard to capture him in this format.
Little People, BIG DREAMS is one of my fave children's non-fiction series. Well, even just children's book series in general!
These books are full of knowledge and lovely pictures. This time around we learn all about Steve Jobs, the famous man behind Apple. His story is unique, and has been told a lot, but is told in a friendly and fun manner in Maria's book. Did you know that Steve was adopted? There's more facts like that packed tight in this colourful, cartoon-y book.
I absolutely adore these books. They make learning fun and make non-fiction way more interesting than I remembered them in my youth. I give my highest recommendations to give these non-fiction picture books to your younglings and introduce them to a world of knowledge early. Also, it's just fun!
Four out of five stars.

Another great entry into this series! In this book, readers get a taste of the life of Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple. An added bonus is this gives kids a chance to see what life was like before computers became common in households around the world. The whimsical art gives a feel for Jobs' offbeat character, and adds a lot to the story.

Apple logo is like nectar to the gods for my children. Right up there in popularity with the Golden Arches! Yet, they could tell me very little about Steve Jobs and the origin of the Apple firm. They took to their beds with excitement for this story, full of facts about the hero with the vision to bring tech to our homes, with lots of bright illustrations and easy to read sentences. This one is for early readers with short, simple sentences, or suitable to be read to babies and young children. Another hit Little People, Big Dreams book. It gets a yes from my little people.

Once again I have learned something new from the Little People, BIG DREAMS series. This time I learned that Steve Jobs was adopted. I also learned that Steve lived a pretty interesting life as a bit of a free spirit. Overall a fun book, loved the illustrations.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

I did not know much about Steve Jobs before reading this, only the bare bones: Founded an IT company before the term IT was even a thing, and worked on making new technologies both usable and affordable for the layman.
... not saying everybody can buy apple stuff, I am saying there's a difference between electronics solely used for research and common home appliances.
I did not know that he was adopted, or that he travelled to India and was into meditation which lead to his opinion on design and usability. Again, this series taught me things and it's a nice entry way to a new story. Kind of like you would start research at wikipedia to get a basic idea of what your topic is about and then go from the further reading material provided.
But instead of having boring wiki commons pictures, this book is colourful illustrated.
Would recommend.
