This novella made me extremely uncomfortable in many parts due to some of the horrible things some of the characters did to others sexually assaulting a woman while she was in her sleep and then her getting beaten to death by her husband for having a child. The child then dies..... . But, I can appreciate being able to see the brutality of life at this time.
