Dustin McCutcheon was in a previous book and, honestly, was kind of a jerk. Here he finally gets his own romance, and it's a pretty good story. It's the enemies-to-lovers trope and done right in this book.
The Texas McCutcheons have a family feud with the Calhouns, former friends, going back years. When Dustin gets involved with Sidney Calhoun (the only daughter) in an interesting court settlement, sparks fly. He ends up taking her and her brother back to the family ranch, with the brother to serve out a sentence for damages caused, and Sidney to watch over her baby brother.
There's plenty of action and romance. There's also a side plot leftover from a previous book involving Dustin's brother Chaim and his upcoming wedding. All in all, another satisfying historical from Ms. Fyffe.
