I like the scientist's "code."
Didn't like the portrayal of bullies and mean teachers... eye rolling, stereotypical, and shouldn't be promoted.

At the end, my 6 yr old asked if we could buy this book. I think she might give it 5 stars! :)

The story of George and how two different worlds collide is interesting. And also the struggle between what you grew up with vs accepting new ideas. I really enjoyed the little bits of facts scattered through the story and also the pages of extra info from time to time. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that the mischievous pig didn't play a bigger role!

Ben is reading this at the moment, he absolutely loves it. He kept reading passages to me in the car this morning, and he tucked himself away in his room yesterday to read.

Science fiction plus science non-fiction all rolled into one. Written by Stephen Hawking and his daughter, Lucy, this is a tale that explains parts of the universe to kids.
George is an outsider thanks to his parents. They are trying to save the world and don’t see the consequences for their son. No TV, no computer, all natural food, limited electricity. Then George’s world opens up when new neighbors move in with the most amazing computer.
Annie and Eric, along with supercomputer Cosmo, bring the universe to George who in turn has to help them save it.
Filled with facts and pictures for the non-fiction lover. A good book for age 9 and up. This can help entice those children who don’t typically choose fiction.

A book where they sneak in facts about space while telling a good story!

This was a fun and educational book. My kids want to read the rest of the series now.

I started this book as an assignment, since we’re preparing a reading workshop for a small group of middle schoolers. I have to say that I wasn’t expecting this book to be this good. At first, it’s a bit slow, but the ending is so great that I believe every teen should read it. It contains a lot of information about the Universe (I mean, duh!), and it is well explained for everyone to understand it.
