If you take it for what it is, it is a fun little romp with a lot of really great science in it.
It is a story of stereotypes: the mean, stupid bullies, the weird, evil scientist, the quirky, naive good scientist, the over the top environmentalists, etc. Yet they tell a fun story with the formulaic characters.
The audiobook is great, highly recommend that modality.

Some of their theories on the start of the universe don't coincide with my faith and belief. But it was a fun read anyway.
Uhhh I really really liked that! I have been interested in astrophysics for quite a time now, but I was always so intimidated by these long and scientific books and most of the time, when I read these I didn’t understand 3/5 of it!
But this book was such a good and simple introduction to the major theories and especially about my favourite topic: black holes!!!
I’m really looking forward to read the other books!

It is not a bad children's book at all I just did not find it interesting to read at higher age. I need to appreciate that the readers can learn alot and the whole concept and idea is cool. I just had the problems with writing and ptedictibility.
In the end there are many books written for children that are enjoyable at higher ages too but I do not find this one to be the case, at least for me not.

I wanted to like this. I liked the concept of having snippets of nf info in a novel. The book was so pedantic, I just couldn't focus on the story (which was thinly veiled)--or the nf tidbits.
