Another great book in this series. I am glad it is a trilogy so that there is closer.
2.5 book for me. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator did a good job. I was annoyed and frustrated for most of this book but plan to give the last book a try.
Bad writing, A good time to read. The author writes like she just learned about similes in English class, and constantly hits you over the head with comparisons to baking to remind you that the main character is a baker. The book is so objectively bad, it’s funny, and that’s why I enjoy reading it so much. Some standout lines from this book:

“you've reached the vociemail of Zeus Olympus" she tries to call a Greek god and gets his fucking voicemail. The author give Zeus a last name. Incredible.

I liked the first book more. I feel the first book was darker and had more thrills and mystery to it than this one. The sequel is not bad, it is OK overall and interesting in some parts but I feel the book has turned fully into a fantasy without the same degree of darkness that the first book had.
There are some new characters in this sequel and some characters that appeared in the first book get killed too. There are some nice events that happen and the protagonist gets a better understanding of her true power here.
I will continue reading this series and read the third instalment in the franchise in the near future. I hope it gets better.

I love this series soooo much. Can't wait to see how it ends in the third book.
After adoring the Desert Cursed series I was excited to read more by this author on KU. About all I got from this one was an intense desire to bake. And while I can relate more to her other lead lady’s propensity for cursing, I did appreciate this lead lady’s creativity in not cursing.
To be fully fair, I didn’t realize this was the second in the series and read it first. I’m not sure reading the first will help though.

Things were better spaced in this book, I didn’t feel as rushed and the main character finally got to sleep!
Monsters and Greek myths
Vampires, werewolves and Greek mythical monsters and heroes are all mixed up in a fun and alarming new world. I need to brush up on my mythology, but once I understood who was who it was a great adventure. Off to book 3!
