slc333's review against another edition
4.0
3.5 stars. It was better than a 3 star but not as good as the first one. Mostly because I was so frustrated by Lane's misguided decision to stick with Catherine despite loving Monroe. Don't worry he does eventually come to his senses. I mean I kind of understand not wanting to trigger a suicide attempt (which her Drs say may be a result of going ahead with the divorce while she is so unstable, but from her history she seems to always be unstable so it isn't fair to expect him to stay with an unstable cheating murderess) but there is no reason he couldn't go ahead with the divorce given the mother has power of attorney and then they could you know just not tell her til she was more settled. Still really like Roe and she definitely deserves better than she got this time around. Really liked her handling of the criminal stalker and her determination to rescue Paxton. The crime this time around was more disturbing this time around, given the age and innocence of the teen victims. I really want another book in this series, but this time I want Lane & Roe TOGETHER for the whole thing and I want to find out what happened to Katie. Did one of Roe's brothers actually have something to do with it (ie an accident) and what did Josie see/do that she may have repressed which had her in such a state before they knew anything was wrong and that sent her on a 20 year downward spiral into drugs?
