It's so hard to review a memoir, I'm always so thankful that someone took the time to share their personal story. Grey had an interesting childhood. I thought this was a unique tale with some sad moments. I didn't go into this expecting a true crime story, and would have liked to have learned more about life on a boat.
That said, my only real complaint is with the audio version. I could not stand the narrator's voice. She sounded like a much older woman, someone who would be perfect reading as an elderly character. After doing the math and figuring out that Grey is almost the same age I am, I was a little put off. I switched to the print version.
I am also always horribly bummed when a memoir doesn't have pictures in it. I did visit the website, but I fell they should have been published in the book (perhaps they are in the paperback, I don't know).

I wasn't crazy about this one. Which is sad bc the blurb sounds right up my alley. Most of the book is spent talking about her terrible childhood. When it got to her adult life and addressed her quest to find out more about her parents, I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, that wasn't until the last few chapters.
