All Heck Broken Loose is the third installment of the East House Mysteries by Rachel Ford. Another fun ghost-filled small-town murder mystery set in Marshmeadow. This time, a hoard of escaped residents from hell and purgatory descends upon the town on Halloween with their leader looking for vengeance. Once again, Tennessee Evans and her crew, despite attempts to steer clear of death and danger, find themselves wrapped up in another caper. A haunting and a serial killer come to town and keep things interesting.
I love the ghostly interactions, especially the dialogue between Raymond and Jack.
Serial killers and ghostly murderers are serious business, but Ford makes this cozy story lighthearted and entertaining.
The relationship between Shania and Tennessee is sweet. This is a sapphic relationship, but not a romance, as the story focuses mainly on the mystery and ghosts.
It wraps up but leaves us with a lead-in for future novels.
I have enjoyed the series so far, and I think this third episode was better than the last.
I think it's best to read the series chronologically to better understand the hierarchy of the afterlife and the presence of our ghostly friends.
I recommend this easy, quick, and unique read by Rachel Ford.
I received this free ARC from the author. This is my honest opinion.
