Great story!! This was my first book I’ve read by Arell Rivers and I’m in love with her!!! I really enjoyed this look at the start of Cole’s career. Loved Cole’s relationship with his mom. 💕 I cannot wait to read the rest of this series and see where Cole went from here. Rock On!

Hold On is a prequel to the Hold series by Arell Rivers, and my feelings are a bit conflicted with this one. I blame this on the fact I have mixed feelings when it comes to short prequels, and few of them work for me the way that I hope.

Although Hold On did leave me interested to see what happens in the series, it failed to make me fall for the main character. I understand it was intended to show our lead character was something of a player, but I did not need to read a story about his player days before he finds the one. It’s enough to know these people exist beforehand, I just do not care to read about them. Sure, there were other details involved – the reason I gave this a three-star rating – but it was not enough for me.

All in all, I’m sure many will enjoy this, but it wasn’t quite enough for me. I do remain interested in the main books in the series, though.
