It's a cute premise, and I liked the inclusion of recipes for dishes that appeared in the story.
I didn't love the characters, especially since many of the author's representations came across as insensitive or ignorant of other cultures, abilities, and economic groups despite seeming to be trying to create a diverse group of people.
