There was so much I didn't like about this book. EVERYONE was a dick to Willa, her mother, grandmother, Gunner, Brady, the bitches at school. Gunner and Brady both were so self-involved, I'm not sure why Willa kept talking to them. And I did not like how it ended! It just stopped!

This book was very enjoyable and easy to read however I prefer the first book. Whilst the three perspective narration and love triangle are more compelling than the "until friday night" plot I feel like some of it is forced. When it comes to the rape especially it seems like just another thing added to make a more interesting story adding unnecessary triggers.

*TW* Mentions of Sexual Assault/Rape

*3.25 - I had so many moments of feeling all mushy gushy and moments where I was shocked and screaming and cheering the characters on but some of the writing was a bit problematic when referring to rape and rape survivors which is why the rating is a little lower than what it would have been had that writing not been there. Honestly those parts discussing rape did nothing to move the story along, and felt like it was solely included for shock factor :\

This book was very cute. I'm not ever let down by Abbi Glines. I am kind of annoyed with the ending though because I feel like everything wasn't wrapped up. The whole book basically put out there how screwed up Gunner's family is it we had no conclusion as to what happened. Did Gunner end up kicking everyone out? Was there any reconciliation with anyone in his family? What did Willa and Gunner do after high school? I just wish I had more answers is all. I have been in somewhat of a reading slump and have been taking forever to get through books but this one I got through pretty quickly. 6 days is pretty long but for me recently, I flew through it. Hopefully this has broken me out of my slump.

I think this might be the lowest rated AG book I've read so far. Usually I fall fast and hard in love with the people in her stories. Even if they do end up blending into one (AG is my most read author according to GR) But this one.. It took me AGES to read. I just didn't care enough to finish it. And what the hell was that ending??

I practically sprinted to pick this book up after enjoying the first so much but I have to say, I'm kinda disappointed.

It wasn't bad by any means but it felt too much like the first book, yes the girls had different things going on in their lives but they both had the entire team falling for them and in competition for their affection, and they both had the whole woe is me thing radiating from them. As did both of the guys which again I loved west and Maggie's stories in the first book and I thought it worked so well but in this one Willa and Gunner both just irritated me.

This book had a love triangle, which I actually usually quite enjoy but I really didn't like who Willa ended up choosing at all. I thought he was so annoying and selfish and a terrible friend. Yes I felt sorry for the guy but he had no redemption at all.Even Willa's nonna grated on me, so over dramatic!

Obviously I didn't dislike the book to the point I stopped reading, it was fine but that's it, just fine.

I will continue to read the next book and fingers crossed I like it more

TW: rape

Spoiler alert: this trash shouldn't have been published.

Why are the girls trashy, slutty and whores for getting with guys, yet the guys don't get degraded at all? Why do the boys get to use these young girls how they see fit and no one bats an eye? Why is Brady, the guy who is supposed to be decent treating his girlfriend like shit? Why does the fact that his mother was RAPED and she wanted an abortion make it unforgivable to Gunner? FFS!

Because: this trash shouldn't have been published. Good lord I don't know that I've read anything this horrible and infuriating. Just because ebooks are so easy to publish doesn't mean they should be.

I didn't even finish this book because it's such an piece of sexist, misogynistic trash, but I had to make it as read to leave this review. Props to the one star voters who suffered through to give a more detailed recap of the countless flaws in this collection of words (note I didn't call it a book.)
