This installment was utterly lovely! I think it might even be my favorite so far in the series.

SpoilerBebris did right in turning away from the supernatural in the series in this installment. I love the focus on the Darcy family, and the mystery of Lady Anne in particular. I was equal parts devastated by the sadness that Lady Anne suffered and furious at Lady Catherine's part in it. Whether the figurines had any mystical power or not, the one given to her by her mother clearly had quite a bit of sentimental power for Lady Anne, and obviously it brought her a great deal of comfort. It was horrifying that Lady Catherine kept it away from her simply out of the foolish belief that anyone discovering that Lady Anne held Catholic beliefs would create a scandal for the family. Horrible woman. It makes her sound as though she has her sister's blood on her hands.

Bebris did a great job with this story. I love that she weaved the history of England into the story and in the crossover between the two novels - playing on Northanger Abbey's past and including the Dissolution of the monasteries in the 1500s.

A brilliant story. I loved it.

Very cute intersection of Pride and Prejudice and Northanger Abbey -- Carrie Bebris really does Austen's characters and writing style justice!

Cute story using our favorite characters from Jane Austen’s writing (and focusing on Darcy and Elizabeth). Mostly fluff, but it was fun. It’s apparently the third book in a series and I haven’t read the first two, but it stands by itself well enough.

These are fun. That's all.

My favorite so far!

I'd actually give this 3.5 stars if I could. Not quite 4 but worth reading when you don't want to have to think too hard or be drug down into the depravity of the modern world. (Where's an emoticon when you need one?)

I just love Carrie Bebris and her weaving of Mr. and Mrs. Darcy into the other Jane Austen tales and I anxiously await her new instalment in September 2008 regarding Mansfield Park. I have really enjoyed the books and haven't been able to read the other books I had planned to along with it because the Darcy Mysteries were so engrosing.

This was pretty much like the Jane Austen Mysteries, just with a different heroine. It was pretty good, but for older teens and adults.
