I could go on about this book for absolutely ages. It is hands down my favourite one of the IAD series, I would read it again and again.
Kresley Cole took a bit of a leap I feel with this one as she introduced a new couple that had not been mentioned or even hinted to before. Whilst Jo has connections to other characters from previous books, Rune's background is again entirely new. I think KC risked these characters therefore not really being accepted by IAD readers but they are absolutely brilliant. Funny, confident, feisty, full of individual personality that gets full development. I love both of them and I love the story they are given. I love the book after this that follows the same group of characters (Wicked Abyss) where Jo and Rune show up again!
I could say more but just... 5 stars, brilliant in all ways.

Loved reading about Rune and Jo. Jo was a badass and I loved how she took care of herself and sacrificed for her brother.

Also loved Rune’s story and how stubborn he was to push away his feelings. The only reason for no 5 stars is because Rune was stubborn for a bit too long. I would’ve liked to see him develop a little more fully.

Josie is a gem. Rune doesn’t make the best decisions but in the end, redeems himself. I finished book 6 and jumped to this one since technically you can read them out of order, but I think I did myself a bit of a disservice doing so. Felt a little out of the loop on things, esp since Nïx is so central to this plot and I didn’t really know what was going on Accession-wise at this point. Overall though, steamy as usual and I felt like these two had a more emotional connection than IAD6 I had just read.
