Wow, this graphic novel is incredibly moving and powerful. There is so much information interwoven with one individual’s true story. Initially, I was thrown off by the jumps from background information to everyday vignettes, but I got used to it by the end and appreciated the context it all provided.

This book is beautifully written and illustrated. I like how the words are different colors basted on what language is being spoken. I didn't know who Tsai Kun-lin was until reading this book. This part of world history was unknown to me (from the U.S) so my hope is that many people get to read this book. I am excited for the next volume.
