"Because I am a predator, and you're looking a lot like prey."

Let me tell you that quote sets the mood for all the sexcapades between Asa and Zane and I LOVED IT!!!Their dynamic, their kinks, their banter!!! Seriously this is one of Onley's best because the kink hit all my buttons!

What hit all my buttons as well was Zane's devastation when he learnt more about his brother's suicide. That car scene ripped me up for him!

'The only time Zane had ever really cried was for himself, last night, when Asa was breeding him'

*delicious chills* From the twins Asa always seemed like the more feral one and oh how true that was! Asa said Avi enjoys pain so I'm intrigued to see the dynamic there with Felix!

Now the thing that didn't work for me, was that not in even 2 days in, with Zane and Asa not even considering a relationship, with Asa not expressing his obsession (yet!) with Zane and everyone was on "marriage preparation" boat for them. It felt too forward and presumptions for something that those two haven't even had a sit down and muse about it because for those 2 days they were on the go constantly. That part really galled me.

Onley never really had Asa or Zane express their assurance of Avi liking Zane which was strange to me but I think the bonus made up for that, although I was sure Avi liked him since the whole "I'm screaming on the inside" comment by Zane.

Now I wonder at the same time what happened between Avi and Felix because they seemed mighty cozy on that bonus!

This was the saddest book of the series and the most painful to read. Suicide is such a sensitive issue for me and the whole story was disturbing BUT the book was good, with a decent plot even if the romance wasn't so powerful as the previous ones.
Nobody is better than August & Lucas...

I think my main issues with this series wouldn't be here if I wasn't reading them in such a quick sucsession. I'm noticing a lot of similarities between all these books, a lot of similar phrases, some phrases are word for word in all of the books. Like, "a therapist would have a field day with him."

And I'm not saying that this was a bad book. It wasn't. I just couldn't give it higher than a 3 star rating for that reason. And I swear if I hear someone refer to Archer as "looking like he just rolled off a pirate ship" one more time in one more book I'm going to lose it (not really, but still).

But make no mistake, I enjoyed reading Headcase. The mystery in this one was particularly intriguing. Definitely my favorite so far. It was dark, cult-like, filled with conspiracy, suicides, and revenge. All the perfect makings of a crime.

The smut scenes were well written and the romance did it for me. The obsession was perfect.
