This one is just as good as the first one. The first one made me bawl. This one made me cry. My heart hurt so bad for Cael. This is such an emotional read but I loved every second of it.

A heartbreaking but life-affirming young adult romance.

The book explores Savanna and Cael’s grief journey following the loss of their older siblings. Within a group they travel across the world to process and heal from their grief,

Whilst the romance itself is predictable, how each of the countries visited mirrors the stages of grief is well thought out and beautifully written.

The links back to Poppy and Rune throughout the book made me the most emotional. The perfect book if you need a good cry but a happy ending.

This book is honestly just the author trying to capitalize off of an amazing book with an unnecessary spinoff. If you don’t want to ruin A Thousand Boy Kisses for yourself don’t read this book.

I can’t count the amount of times I rolled my eyes while reading; I feel like this book was written for angsty 12 year olds.

I honestly feel like Savannah and Cael’s relationship was toxic and codependent. The whole relationship seemed extremely rushed and it felt like more of a trauma bond than a relationship. Cael’s ego was also painfully big. We get it, you’re above 6 feet tall; athletically built; and the best hockey player in the history of ever even though you haven’t conditioned or been on the ice in over a year, you don’t need to mention it CONSTANTLY.

4.75 ⭐️ I cannot lie to you I am still sobbing whilst writing this review. This is such a beautiful read, but please do be aware of the triggers and heartbreak that it does include 🤍 This duet has had me laughing, crying, smiling and honestly deeply thinking about life, friendships, relationships, grief, terminal illness and so many other topics. It has to be up there with my most tabbed books ever, because the amount of love, grief, sorrow and heartbreak in this book (and the first) is huge in the best ways possible. it really does get you thinking alongside the storyline of the more real life questions and thought provoking moments in life to consider and never take to granted.

*I received a free copy of A Thousand Broken Pieces. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*

Oh my gosh. This book was beautiful. Very, very sad at times, as the ocean of my tears can attest for, but still truly beautiful. I was in this book from the very first page (and yes, I was crying by page two) because the writing just brought me straight into the Litchfield family. Savannah just broke my heart in so many ways, because grief is hard!

I think Ms Cole has found a beautiful way to talk about grief, to talk about difficult subjects surrounding grief, and to let all those who read this book liberate some much needed tears. I know I needed to cry, and Savannah and Cael definitely helped me with that. I think it's important to have read A Thousand Boy Kisses before reading this one, because I think you need to know the Litchfield family as a whole before seeing how Savannah is doing, and also understanding why.

If you are not afraid to read a book that packs a punch, and you want to see how different people deal with their grief, I think A Thousand Broken Pieces is the book you should pick up. One of the things I love about reading about difficult subjects is that I can deal with my feelings in the safety of my own home.
