Very few Agatha Christie books make me gasp out loud as the reveal happens, but this was one of them. I’m very impressed at how all the seemingly unrelated threads were combined, and idiosyncrasies were explained. Also one of my favorite Battle books, with one of the best nods to Poirot that she’s done in a book without him in it.

Despite this being pretty short I struggled to finish it.

It’s okay. The beginning is the best part with the unusual premise. But, otherwise it’s just filler until it’s “zero hour” so definitely not my favorite.

The plot twist is like my least favorite Poirot, “The Hollow.”

Endless Night, They Came to Baghdad, The Unexpected Guest, And Then There Were None, Murder is Easy, Spiders’s Web, & Black Coffee were all much more enjoyable than this stand alone.

I am huge Agatha Christie fan and I like her standalone stories too however this one was quite bland.

The ending was too stupid with love suddenly appearing and I really had no idea why it had to end like that.

Whole solving mystery part was also dragged at some point

Foarte interesanta povestea. Incalcita intr-un mod bun dar,
finalul, de unde atata dragoste intre Audry si un strain pe care l-a cunoscut de cateva zile. Si in asa fel incat sa plece in strainatate cu el. In toata cartea, nu a fost nimic care sa sugereze ca asta ar fi comportamentul lui Audry. Din potriva, personajul ei a fost descris ca fiind foarte calculata. Foarte ciudat si anticlimactic.
