Excellent addition to the series, among the best yet.

This was one of my first mystery books and I read it as a stand-alone on accident so I was feeling as though I missed a few contexts (which I did) while beginning the book.

It felt a little slow at first but once it got to the climax and the whole murder chase happening, I found myself glued to the book trying to figure it out on my own too. I really thought I figured out who the culprit was from the beginning but once I finished the book... wow. Deanna Raybourne did one hell of a job with the plot twists.

I may start reading this series from the beginning to really understand the characters other than what I learned from this book!

I would recommend to beginner mystery readers as a beginner mystery reader myself :)

I love Veronica Speedwell as a series and this latest one does not disappoint! It furthered Veronica's emotional growth and the plot kept me guessing! Just when I was sure I'd figured it out, it twisted, but not in a way that left me unable to follow or required me to leap across gaping plot holes! Thoroughly enjoyed!

4.5 So enjoyable and fun. And for some reason, articles about and references to the Crystal Palace, the megalosaurus kept popping up in my other readings.

Another delightful instalment. A bit of an Agatha Christie feel to this one.
