The narrator of this audio book is fairly good, but I don't think the story is exceptional. It seems a pretty standard mystery, and there have been enough hints already (by disc 3) to give me a good idea of who the suspects are, and who is the likely perpetrator. However, it's an engaging enough story that I will finish it.
After finishing the book:
An interesting enough story, though I had worked out my theory of what happened before halfway, and it turned out to be right on target. The suspense was not there for me, but I did enjoy it, perhaps moreso because the reader did a reasonably good job. My main quibble (other than figuring out the plot early in the book) was that the reader was inconsistent in pronouncing the main character's name, and I found this a little jarring. Otherwise, it was entertaining enough to stave off boredom in the car.

I guessed what happend about 1/2 way through the book, and it didn't matter. The way the author shared the thoughts of the characers was very compelling and facinating. It was a deeply physchologically intense book. I am quickly looking up other books by this author, I have a new favorite!

If you're looking for a breathless, fast-paced thriller, this isn't the book for you. Neither is it if you're looking for a complex plot or a convoluted mystery. But the thoughtful, compassionate police work was a balm to my soul and, as always, the author delivers her insight into humanity and our ability to justify our actions.
These mysteries get better and better. I'm afraid to post reviews, because it's better to go in without knowing much.
I liked it, but it wasn't exactly a mystery. I knew from the beginning what had happened and whodunit, but it was still an interesting and engaging read.
Despite the crime/mystery being interesting something about the writing made this book rather unenjoyable.
