I am obsessed with this series!

While the series started off promising with a lot of push and pull in part one, it just went downhill from there.

Andrew, our MC, successful lawyer and supposed alpha male, turns out to be a broken shell of a man who actively decided to be nothing more than a sexist jerk with a huge side of asshole with sociopathic tendencies. Let me get this straight: Treating women like shit is not sexy. Oh, let's say it again, just a bit louder: TREATING WOMEN LIKE SHIT IS _NOT_ SEXY. Even a history of life-changing loss and devastating heartbreak is not an excuse to do so. And making at least some exceptions for the one woman you finally start to fall for doesn't help either.

Aubrey, our FMC, a law student who actually aspires to be a ballerina, tries hard to develop a backbone and some self-respect, but fails again and again, at nearly every opportunity. Even after
Spoilerbeing in a relationship with Andrew for six years and being pregnant with his child, she still sees herself at the receiving end of his good grace and starts to cry about the (seemingly) fact that he bought her earrings instead of an engagement ring — which turned out to be just another mind game, btw.
GAH.

The story jumps from scene to scene with more plot holes one can count, and considering the characters never go through an actual development, their relationship is nothing less than toxic. He was clearly harassing and abusing her until
Spoilersomething like an HEA appeared out of thin air
, and I can't stand that shit like this still get's romanticized.

Sassy, Sexy, Scandalous & SO Good!

Very good erotic romance by author Whitney G. I'm surprised this was her first time writing in this genre and this trilogy hasn't been read by more people. It should be! The story flows easily between past & present, characters well thought out and I liked them the more I read and finally, the erotic steam is blazing hot. Sexy, foul-mouth talking, sassy, scandal, it's all here and more!

The only change I'd make to this book is removing the definitions at the top of each chapter. To me, they didn't fit in and in some aspects took away from the story. I read the word, it's definition and then tried to figure out how it applied to the story and it was distracting. It's why I couldn't give this trilogy five stars. Yes, this book has lawyers in it, but the story has plenty of details to cover what the legal aspects are. If a second version is ever printed, consider cutting the chapter definitions and adding in the final notes of the future. I appreciated the final notes and think it brings a great ending to this erotic romance story.

YES, Choose this trilogy for a great escape!

This was my first time listening to Reasonable Doubt and I just fell in love all over again with this story. I thought the narrators were perfect for this steamy and angsty read. These two could read an instruction manual and I'd be the first to want to listen.

As much as a grade-a d-bag that Andrew can be, I enjoyed how he slightly broke his barriers down for Aubrey. The entire time you'll be eager to know Andrew's story, there's more than what he shows. And it's an unbelieve and emotional ride.CHECK OUT THE REST OF MY REVIEW | HERE

***AUDIOBOOK***

5 STARS

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Great, dirty talking hero. His past added a complexity to his character as well as reasoning for his playboys ways.

I liked the heroine. She was determined to make her own path, often having to stand up to her parents.

There is an age gap, but the heroine is 22.

Great steam. Good chemistry. Interesting plot.

I loved the narrators!

I missed Whitney G’s writing.

I literally hated nearly every single character in this book. I'm not even entirely sure why I kept reading - I think it was to see if anybody redeemed themselves, but they didn't.

Sure, they all had reasons as to why they were gigantic assholes, but there was no growth or learning or anything that would indicate a change in character that would make it reasonable to see the hero and heroine end up together.

All in all, pretty disappointing.

I haven't bought an e-book in years, I get my thrills from free or out of copyright oldies; but I bought this one and it was totally worth it, if that tells you anything. RAWR!
