This was much more “technical” than I expected, with the target audience definitely being “professional” WGS and trans scholars. Because of this, I found it more inaccessible than I had expected with my WGS background for some casual reading. However, it is, from my cis-WGS perspective, an important and enlightening text. It’s one I will likely add to my academic library and will revisit to keep reminding me to open my eyes to new ideas and new scholarship

skipped a couple of chapters but ultimately one of the most helpful readers containing transgender political economy and transaesthetics I've come across so far.

Range of topics and perspectives, some more accessible than others. Particularly like where decolonization, immigration, prison abolition come into play, and the general tension between neoliberalism and more radical approaches. There's a definite academic bent, but still relevant outside the academy.
