Lots to like about this character driven story! Got a bit lost with all the characters.

Pure queer joy. Sometimes you wanna sit back and smile at the silly gay people in your phone, this is that! The dialogue and the banter between characters are this book's strong suit, I'm positive I've had the exact back and forth with my own friends.

flew through this book today, it was everything I was hoping for and more. Every character felt so fleshed out and real, and it really threw me right back into my college years. Starting to process teen trauma, finding true friends that will stand by you and help you become your best self, growing into your queerness, it's the idyllic college experience (well, not quite idyllic due to trauma but still). And the dynamic between Sav and Wes was absolutely adorable. I loved how much it focused on friendships, I just loved everything.

Made me feel queer joy and I now have crushes on two side characters! Love!
Also felt seen as someone affected by trauma. Savannah‘s development is touching and real.

I ate this upppp. Haley Jakobson writes about mental health, trauma, sexuality, and friendship in an authentic and healing way — absolutely 5 ⭐️

This book has so much heart!!!! (but it took a while to get there) The first chunk is a little slow but it picks up about halfway through. I wasn’t a fan of the writing style and narrative structure. I appreciate what Jakobson was trying to do with flashback chapters (at times not labeled the best) and changing POVs, but it took me out of it trying to keep the timelines straight. I wish the characters were a smidge more fleshed out (and there weren’t so many of them).

Rating this is hard because the story is strong and compelling, but the methods it’s told through needed significant polishing. It’s not a bad book by any stretch, but it definitely feels like a debut.
