Hard to believe Sendak's illustrations aren't original to the publication--I can't imagine this story without them! What a lovely world MacDonald and Sendak create!

This is the story of a princess who is light as a feather and often floats away. It is clearly inspired by Sleeping Beauty, for the princess is cursed by one who was not invited to a party by her parents. As this floating princess grows up, she takes nothing seriously until she falls in love. Another fun story by MacDonald.

Really beautiful, sad story. It reminds me of Undine and Juliet Marillier's novels.

A fairytale were a princess losses her gravity cause her aunt put a spell on her. The princess enjoys being weightless and carefree but everyone around her wants her to be normal.  She meets a prince who's looking for the perfect princess and he falls in love with her instantly. In typical fairy tail style the prince must make a sacrifice to get the princess of this dream and "fix" her that way gravity effects hers .

The beginning is rough but it gets a bit better after that. The king is very irritating. I couldn't care less for the princess and think the prince could've done better than her.

I liked the part starting when the water is already on the prince's head to her collapsing crying in the next morning though. Very cute and charming, wish the whole story was like that.

I like the songs through the short story though, very creative and they were well translated in my edition.

I think I maybe would've liked this better if I had read it in English or listened to the audiobook. As it is, I took 4 days to finish it and was bored in a lot os sessions (but not all of them, though).

In the end, it was a boring story.
