5 Stars - I would recommend if you are feeling the "quarter life crisis" or like reading witty non-fiction or travel.
I picked up this book at Anthropologie on the sale rack. I liked the cover and the premise sounded good, turns out it was GREAT!
This book follows the life of Cara Benson as she pulls herself out of a quarter-life crisis complete with crippling anxiety, the bulk of the story occurs during a 13 day, 8 country trip, with (you guessed it) no baggage & a guy she met on OK Cupid. First of all, how intriguing! No baggage?! Also, no itinerary?! With someone you barely know... ?! Crazypants.
This book is part travel adventure, part witty dialogue, and a whole lot of what it means to be 25. If you're feeling the mid-life crisis thing... check out this book. It's a quick read, it doesn't drag, and it weaves together anxiety, finding yourself, travel, and adventure seamlessly. It's not depressing, but it's not unrealistically positive either. It seems real, it's very personal. I really loved this one!!

I really enjoyed this book, especially as I had been to a few of the places when I studied abroad in Bulgaria. This book balances modern love, adventure, and mental health gracefully.
I binge listened to this book in one day because it's about meeting a guy on ok cupid and then deciding to travel halfway around the world with him after knowing him a month, and I met a guy on ok cupid and decided to fly halfway around the world with him after a month so it's kinda relevant to my interests. We leave for Thailand Tuesday!
This was both an internal and external travel book, and both journeys were wonderful. I only wish I had read it a little slower, to let everything sink in a little more. There was so much depth in it that I'd like to read it again. At first, it reminded me of Richard Linklater's "Before Sunrise". But as it went along I found myself thinking of [b:Eat, Pray, Love|19501|Eat, Pray, Love|Elizabeth Gilbert|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1294023455s/19501.jpg|3352398], and think it would be a good reading group companion book to it. It's a little scary to read while planning a vacation. But also motivating.
Short story about the three week baggage-free adventure she takes with new boyfriend Jeff. Nothing groundbreaking or memorable to report. Funny at times, but nothing more.
This really is a perfect travelogue for adventures and homebodies, as well as those - like me - who feel torn between both of those labels. Clara is a forthright narrator as she travels Central/Eastern Europe with a man she met online mere months before. She is honest with her thoughts and history (recently recovered from a mental breakdown). Her journey is equal parts terrifying and brave (emotionally speaking), and in simple, insightful language she gives her reader a lot of food for thought on big ideas while keeping her travelogue short and sweet. Part of me would have liked to devour more of her unorthodox wanderings and relationship with Jeff, but part of me thinks this was a perfectly sized bite to whet the appetite for adventures of one's own. Well done.

This was surprisingly good! I picked it out for being short and not too serious, but turns out to have some good fun and wisdom hiding in it. (Audible reader was the author, and not great, but definitely still worth a read/listen.)
An easy read, a great story! I loved the elements of introspection, vulnerability, healing, and courage. Lots and lots of courage. Very inspirational!
Abandoned. I get the premise. I know it's exciting to travel with no plans, no baggage etc. But it was framed as something so much more risky than it actually was. I loved her openness about her mental health, and I found that helpful for sure, but I just didn't care enough about their adventure to finish it.
