A beautiful evaluation on the circle of life and what it means to give things a chance. I will never view charity shops the same way again! π€

Gwen is coasting through life. Sheβs in her mid-thirties, perpetually single, her friends are busy procreating in the countryside, and conversations with her parents seem to revolve entirely around the councilβs wheelie-bin timetable
And sheβs lonely. But then, isnβt everyone?
When sheβs made redundant from a job she hardly cares about, she takes herself out for a fancy dinner. There, she has the best sticky toffee pudding of her life and realises she has no one to tell. She vows to begin living her life fully, reconnect with her friends and family, and finally book that dentistβs appointment.
Gwen decides to start where all things get a second chance: her local charity shop. There, with the help of the weird and wonderful people and donated items bursting with untold stories, Gwen will find a way to move forward with bravery, tenacity, and more regular dental care.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are fantastic! They are quirky, witty, and funny π I loved Asha, and her conversation with Gwen about her occupational choice in becoming a lawyer it is laugh out loud funny! The humour that travels through this book is brilliant ππ» its witty and snappy.
I loved all the mini stories and the juxtaposition of the items donated to the charity shop by the characters and how Gwens' story flows along gently beside them. It is so clever the way Bravo links the backstories, the reasons for that item being separated from its owner, and the emotions tied to those items.
It's a story about...
π Friendship
π©² Loss
πΌ Being true to yourself
π Observations on Life
π» A tender tale
I love charity shops, I visit my local one once a week, mainly to find books or items for school π« I recently bought a tea set to go in our home corner π.
Do you visit charity shops?
As someone once said...
One man's trash is another man's treasure. π π

Quite slow to start with, but an enjoyable read. Loved the in-between stories about items donated to the charity shop and where they ended up.
The second half is so much better than the first, which I found a bit too slow and not very captivating. Glad I finished it though!
