As always, entertaining with great plotting and interesting characters. This is one of my favorite ongoing series and the author has kept up the high standards with each book. Listened to the audio version which was narrated by Richard Ferrone who did his usual excellent job.

Meh story, same easy read, but no satisfying wrap up. Reading mindless easy reads should have everything tied up with a bow at the end, not a messy real world conclusion.

Loved it! With the first few Lucas Davenport books focused on serial killers and the like, I've enjoyed how the last several installments have taken Davenport into new and unique mysteries. As usual, can't wait for the next one.

Rating is actually 3.5. it's vintage Sandford which is a good thing for plotting but somehow it felt lifeless. I've read them all and know these books are procedurals but l missed the tension and danger of other books.

Good book in the series, made great by the Kidd and Lauren characters. I knew there was a series about them, but not more. Loved how they work into this story. I am reading all out of order, so I made sure to get this in before reading the sequel with the Senator.

John Sandford is my favorite author and his Virgil Flowers and Lucas Davenport series are always a hit with me. This wasn't my favorite Lucas Davenport book...for me it dragged a little through the ending and I wasn't terribly interested in the other characters. Didn't really like the Kidd stuff in here, but it wasn't a huge part. Anyway, I liked it, but didn't love it in comparison with the other "Prey" books. Looking forward to the next one in May.

One of my favorite authors. Another great book that kept you thinking. You knew who did it, but how Davenport was going to catch them kept you guessing.

I enjoyed this book, but I love the vast majority of Sandford's books. It was good to see another worthy female protagonist added to the series. I especially liked the appearances by Kidd and Lauren/LuEllen. I have never been a fan of Weather, so I was happy to see her marginalized here. Overall, I find all of Sandford's stories to be entertaining and easy to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I really appreciate this complimentary advance reading copy from the wonderful folks at Goodreads. I understand that this book will be on sale from Putnam Books. I could not wait to finish it to see how Lucas Davenport would unravel this very cleverly executed political scandal. I have always enjoyed Sandford's novels. This particular one includes many seemingly "cliffhanger" moments. I most definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an action-packed, investigative novel. It would make a great movie!
