The actual 20 or so pages that are about "wicked children" are mildly entertaining.. The rest of the book has absolutely nothing to do with the title.

A glorified advertisement for her own novels coupled with a snippet of the research she did for them. This book included one rather short (5-10minutes tops of reading) chapter of interest in which we hear some stories of children who kill (with the odd novel name drop advertising her own work). Then we get 2 chapters of 10 poisons and 10 antidotes. Then we get two sample chapters that seem to be not even the first chapter but ones half way through the books.
Utterly useless and misleading book with so much promise in that first interesting chapter.
ALSO: I want a source for that Sunday Telegraph quote because it's generally laughable that they even read this never mind reviewed it. It's not even a proper novella.

Way too short. Really nothing more than an ad for her fiction books. Which is OK, but then don't make it sound (from cover and intro) as if this is going to be a series of short stories. Instead it's barely an essay.

I liked the actual wicked children part of this but that was way to short and afterwards it only included sample chapters which I didn't like

I hate giving ratings this low, but when I get a book about child killers I don’t want 30% to be about the killers, 20% to be about poisons and the antidotes, and 50% to be about her other books! Thank goodness it was free.
15 child killers talked about with no page breaks or chapters. Literally paragraphs about each one and the next paragraph was a different child. No longer than 12 pages.
Then the top 10 medieval poisons.
And then 10 antidotes to the medieval poisons.
That was half the book! And that ended up being the whole book! The second half was literally the author promoting her other books and giving chapters to read for those.
