I thought the artwork was wonderful, esp in the first issue or two. The story gets a bit meandering after awhile, but it's decent stuff.

I like the character and want her around for awhile, so I will keep buying my comixology issues. Hopefully we'll get some more compelling plots. This first arc was just okay.

It's really just one big fight scene from beginning to end. Could have done with a bit more meat on the bones. So to speak.

Not a bad introduction to the character. I haven't read much DC, and I've never read Supergirl before, but with the TV show starting I thought I should check it out. She's an interesting twist on the Superman character, with the same powers but she hasn't had years to get used to the idea of being on Earth. The art is good. The writing is alright. Ultimately it's setting up a character and her motivation for the rest of the series, and it's a good enough start that I may one day go back and check out the next volume.

There was a lot of great art in this. Minus the costume. I was fascinated by Reign's character, especially that she appeared to a mutated grey alien ala The X-Files (which made me laugh). Generally, I was impressed with the Worldkillers and would love to have seen more of the others. This is my first foray into New 52 Supergirl (and have read very little of New 52 Superman) so I am left wondering if the mysterious 5th Worldkiller is Doomsday? Or if it was another new creation.

Overall, I found Kara a little needlessly impetuous and brash. I get that she's a teenager and I understand her not trusting adult Kal-el at first, but then she so quickly adopts Earth? On the one hand, I totally buy it as her character, on the other hand I felt like it was bit rushed in the writing. A little too much constant action, not enough character development (for anyone really). I love that Kara ultimately outsmarted the Worldkillers rather than simply beating them via fists. I did feel for her emotionally. I also liked that she never seemed to learn English in the issue. She and Reign just kept talking in Kryptonian, ignoring everyone around them.

As this is my first Supergirl trade, I liked it. But I am hoping I connect a little more either the more of New 52 I read or with the 2005 issues.

Decent story. Supergirl's tale is unique in that she comes to Earth as a teenager, not a baby, which works well to differentiate he from Superman. The end is weak, but the main story is strong enough.

Really good even with the atrocity of that suit design.

Supergirl was rebooted more recently than most and I really enjoyed that storyline. I was skeptical to see them reboot her again. I can't say that I liked this better, but I give them credit for going in a completely different direction. They set up some interesting elements and made me anxious for volume II.
