its incredibly cute, def not what id consider a great romance though . i know this will end with them both being in love, but a part of me wishes yuu won't actually feel the same and they end up in more of a queer platonic relationship. either way, its cute.
UPDATE + overall series review :
okay, you got me. this manga was pretty good. despite the beginning, their relationship Does progress into something more fluffy and cute. i like that the manga didn't shy away from touko's identity problems and intimacy issues. i also appreciate their complicated dynamic. i'm considering maki as aroace rep-- which-- points for that too.
only issue i have with the series is probably the sex scene at the end. i don't wanna see a first and third year doing that, thank you. otherwise, it was an incredibly compelling romance.

I saw that my bookstore had ordered a copy of volume 2 but not volume 1, noticed that it looked like it would have queer characters, and decided to order it. When it came in I bought both, read through them very quickly, and proceeded to read the rest online (before ordering every other volume as well as the light novels and anthologies, and then watching the anime too!). I loved it! Very cute story and art, and I loved the characters! I'd definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a cute slice of life yuri manga! The book has several lesbian characters (including a happy, older lesbian couple), and there is one character who is ace/aro but it is not Yuu, who seems to think she is aromantic to protect herself from being hurt. She may be demiromantic in that it takes a fairly deep connection and a long time for her to feel a romantic connection, but she does feel that way eventually. She's also not asexual, and there is a brief sexual scene towards the end of the series. Slightly weird as a person nearing 30 years old, considering they are still quite young, but still rather nice that it wasn't just hinted at as sometimes happens with books about queer characters. Note: one character is also a little bit pushy with boundaries (a trope for the genre), for a while, but she does try to respect those boundaries eventually. . Also, the anime was very cute! It is a very strong adaption, and most of the dialogue and scenes were word for word from the manga! As of 3/22/22, there is only one season that goes through about half of the manga, unfortunately, but I am hopeful for another!
