Review to come...

For erotica fans who flock to books featuring cars, motorcycles, tattoos and piercings: Welcome to Nirvana! Asa has it all: a tortured past, piercings that raise eyebrows and a sweet side. Add in that he finds über-independent PJ both the sexiest and most inspiring woman he’s ever met and he’ll have you from that first cocked eyebrow — and that’s before the dirty talk. Grab a fan and a tall, cold drink. You’re going to need both to make it through this scorching-hot read!

PJ Colman wants nothing more than for her family’s company to succeed — but she also wants to be her own person. So when she decides to strike out on her own doing custom paint, she gets to know Twisted Steel’s co-owner, the smoking-hot Asa Barrons. He thinks she’s too young and too nice to deal with his baggage, but when these two get together, engines aren’t the only things getting revved.

4.5 Stars! TOP PICK!

OPENING UP was a 4.5 stars for me. Read my review here http://www.tartsweet.com/2015/07/18/review-opening-up-by-lauren-dane/

I received an ARC of this book through the First Reads giveaway.

This was a fun romance. It followed the typical pattern for romance, which is really what I want sometimes.

Asa and PJ are cute together - sometimes overly so in the way that new couples can be. Everyone adores PJ, except for her father. Of course, this eventually comes across as she can do no wrong which can be a bit annoying.

Asa is the rough, tattooed hero with a soft interior. Not a ton of personality outside of that.

All in all, if you're used to the romance genre tropes you'll likely enjoy this book. If not, they may be somewhat jarring.

As an aside, if this is a pre-edit copy - go Ms. Dane! It is better written than a LOT of final version books I've read.

There is so much potential with these characters, it totally pisses me off that there's no stinkin' plot. I finished it because I loved the h but it was a tough finish.

Opening Up is one of my favorite books of 2015! It was so hard to put my Kindle down when I was at work and I waited to my bys ride back home just so I could keep reading this amazing book.
PJ is one of my top favorite heroines and I loved. everything about her
Asa was an amazibg hero and I loved them both as a couple.
Opening Up is a super sexy book and the chemistry between PJ and Asa was out of this world- I could feel the sparks between them while reading about the first time they meet one another. Opening Up is also very emotional story and I truly enjoyed every minute of reading it.
Lauren Dane is an amazing author that write about strong women that are not afraid to speak their mind.

I have not found a Lauren Dane book that I have not liked. Opening Up is a great beginning to the new series Ink & Chrome. PJ is a very strong willed independent person who is working for the family business selling tires. After showing her family (brother, father, and uncle) the income from doing custom paint, which is her real love, and is turned down she leaves the company.

From the first meeting of PJ and Asa you can almost feel their tangible chemistry from the page. Asa Barrons is the co-owner of Twisted Steel that rebuilds and customizes cars or motorcycles. Their chemistry pulls them together, but he’s older and tries to reason with himself why he cannot be with someone that is 25. He pushes her away for what he thinks is a good reason, but she decides to show him it’s not only not going to work but that they are good for each other.

I loved the fact that Asa and PJ were normal people. With family problems on both sides, but the Colman family really makes themselves and their dysfunction known. By the end of the book, I was extremely happy that Asa stood by her while her father especially continued to hurt her at every opportunity. All the characters had their place in the story and each was well written. I really enjoyed getting to know Duke and at first wanted to slap Mick for his treatment of PJ, but he ended up being a great guy. I wish the next book was about Mick, but I can understand why it is Duke.

If you’re a fan of Lauren Dane or are interested in her books, I recommend Opening Up. I’m putting Asa Barrons on my book-boyfriend list. He sizzles right off the page.

I got this book as research for a book i'm working on, mistakenly thinking it was an MC romance. I was wrong on that score, but I was delighted with the story all the same and loved it from start to finish.

It revolves around PJ, the black sheep of a litter of four in the successful Colman's Tyres business and her struggle to prove herself to her family while staying true to herself while falling hard for the bad boy owner of an auto restoration shop.

There is more sex in this than most of the other works by Miss Dane that I have read, and there is a delightful bit of S&M that while far from being a heavy factor, does spice up the moment (if crops are your sort of thing that is). The story is a delightful blend of contemporary elements and while there is plenty of drama, (apart from on a few occasions) it rarely feels forced or done just for effect.

A great 5-star summer read.

once again Dane strikes gold with her unique characters and wonderfully sensual love scenes... she just never lets me down... cannot wait for Duke and hopefully Mick's story.
