Bello e macabro come piace a me! Disegni stupendi e trama complessa e non prevedibile. Amo Doctor Strange!

English review:
The Empirikul have come to Earth and their plan to completely eradicate magic with the power of Science is almost done. Weak and without magic, how will Strange and the other sorcerers defeat the new enemy and bring back magic to life?
Beautiful and macabre just how I like it! Beautiful drawings and a complex and unpredictable plot. I love Doctor Strange!

Jason Aaron's run continues, with the Empirikul wiping out all magic , Dr. Strange and other magic users are left with no option but to seek out and hunt down lost relics of magic. Weapons and items imbued with magical abilities to fight back. I like that Dr. Strange finds out about Wongs monks and shuts that down. I like that Strange trades one villain for another, and Mr. Misery is an internal force with more meaning to Dr. Strange than the external Imperator, who is still a threat but I like the deeper connection with Misery.

The style, the way magic looks and works is absolutely stunning - I love Stephen's and Illyana's relationships however brief it is. I did dislike Wong's decision to use monks without Stephen's knowledge, it felt out of character and incredibly cruel, even if Zelma channeling the magic at the end was incredibly sweet.
I love Zelma so much.

This installment of Doctor Strange had some phenomenal moments, but the overall story was a bit of a head-scratcher due to some plot points that make very little sense, at least from my perspective. It was nice to see Doctor Voodoo, Magik, Scarlet Witch and others all in one place, fighting the good fight against, but the overall concept of an ultimate battle pitting magic against science left me a bit cold. (Can't we all just coexist?) Still, it will be interesting to see where the series goes from here.

This was my second read-through of this story arc, and I enjoyed it better the second time. I'm disappointed that Zelma Stanton is such a one-dimensional character, and her rapid involvement and acceptance of all the magic wildness and battles feels fake, but I'm hoping her character gets more attention after the finale of this two-volume arc centering around the Empirikul killing most of the magic in the known universe.
There are some fun easter eggs throughout, and the other magicians' stories were definitely interesting to me.
Kudos to Jason Aaron for making this rather outdated cliche of a character relevant again, and setting him up for a clean slate going forward.

Read as single issues.
Very compelling arc, and once again, unbelievable art.

I liked the first one more, the villain backstory was a bit generic and I don’t really understand how he was defeated, also wish they would’ve explored more the science vs magic aspect of him more, and finally the trade paperback had the last days of magic single until the end instead of the beginning
