OMG really? I only read 17% through the book before deciding I couldn't read anymore. Honor was selfish, thoughtless, impetuous, and inconsiderate. Yes, there's the possibility that she may redeem herself, but given how willfully she breaks the mores of the time period WITHOUT PENALTY, it seems unlikely. When the hero and her sister called her on her shenanigans but went along with it anyway, it was time to save myself from the impending headache.

My first Julia London and I really loved it, especially because the heroine is not the usual good and placid character but in her own words a swashbuckler. I can’t wait to read the next in the series

Strong heroine with a hero who is not accepted by the ton. Very enjoyable, I will read the rest of the serie.

This was not nearly as good as I hoped. Both main characters were annoying and I had a hard time believing they were in love. The plot felt underdeveloped as there were a lot of things that didn’t make sense. Although I’ve read another Julia London book that I really enjoyed, I’m not sure I care enough about the family members in this book to continue with the series.

The trouble began with a card game. Honor Cabot dared to beat George Easton at a game in which he excelled.
It’s fascinating to see the tables turned in this Regency era novel. Julia London has outdone herself yet again!
I first thought I wasn’t going to like either the Heroine or the Hero of this tale. They developed over time into people in which I was emotionally invested. Honor is stubborn, feisty and fiercely loyal to her family. She’s not afraid to fight for what she wants.
George, how to describe George! I fell in love with him! He starts of very much a rake but once he falls, he will do anything to protect and prevent Honor from making what he feels is a mistake. He’s very insecure at points in the story, very lonely, which makes him all the more appealing but he’s still a strong male character.
The chemistry between them jumps right of the page and leads to several steamy encounters. There is also such heartbreak, but to see the perseverance in Honor is so admirable. I love a Heroine with a spine of steel and she definitely needs it to fight for her stubborn male!

I haven’t read many titles by Julia London but I always find that I love the ones I do. The Trouble with Honor begins The Cabot Sisters series introducing 4 sisters who love the trappings of the ton but prefer living their lives their way so much more. With the death of her step-father, the Earl, drawing closer Honor knows that she must do something to save her mother, her sisters, and herself before her soon-to-be sister-in-law has them all out of the house. She devises a plan to keep them in their home a little longer but that backfires because her plan includes George Easton. George is the illegitimate son of a duke who has some recognition in the ton but really is just on the fringes. When he first makes Honors acquaintance in a gaming hell he’s intrigued by the debutante that would gamble against him and as he gets to know her he can’t seem to let her go. But he knows the debutante isn’t for him no matter what he feels. What started as a deception has become so much more for both of them but can they find happiness with the weight of the ton dragging them apart? Great start to the series, excited to see where it goes with the other sisters especially since we did leave the next sister, Grace, if a bit of a predicament.
