a solid enough set of essays but enough of them attack the same exact idea (the distinction between the real and the not, the undermining of that distinction, and the other way stevens plays on that theme), just from slightly different angles and are written by people who are clearly far too in love with their own ability to academically discuss poetry, that the book often becomes a same-y unconsumable mess of overwritten jargon that it is very hard to enjoy
