This book is a good start to this new series. Grant Malone and Emerson Reeves were childhood best friends and next door neighbors that shared everything. Grant came from a loving and supporting family but not Emerson. Things were find between the friends until Emerson made Grant pinky promise something and he broke that trust.
Several years later they run into each other and he started pursuing her because she’s the only girl he’s ever loved. But they are different; Grant is a detective and Emerson is living sort of like a gypsy and wants nothing to do with Grant. Grant doesn’t give up and they come up with an agreement.
As their relationship progresses, you get to see some of Grant’s flashbacks as a kid and how he battled with trying to help Emerson. You’ll also see as an adult how that incident has made him one to save everyone that he can.
Grant is easy to like and Emerson eventually grows on you. This is a mixture of romance and emotions; incidents that are very sensitive. Grant is a hero because the things he does to keep her by his side will have you swooning. The secondary characters also added some charm to this new series.
I voluntarily accepted an advanced reader copy of this book and I can’t wait for the rest of the Malone brothers stories.

K. Bromberg’s newest book Cuffed will keep you invested with every turn of the page. While she lays the ground work in the beginning of the book, there is a part of you that knows there is more going on and you are just waiting for the next shoe to drop. Emmy and Grant will still your heart and take you on a journey that shows not only can you trust yourself but to believe in those who were always there for you.
Grant has never forgotten Emmy from all those years ago. She was his best friend and he still wonders what happened to her and if she is okay. When she shows up in town one night he is immediately taken back in time and knows that he never stopped caring about her.
Emerson can’t believe that her night out has brought her back into Grant’s life. She knew at some point she would see him again but isn’t prepared for how she would feel when the time came. She still blames him for when he told her secret and changed her life forever.
Grant can’t seem to stay away from Emmy now that she is back in town, but knows it will be a struggle. Every chance she gets, she reminds him why they won’t work. But one night they both finally give into the sparks between them and it will change everything whether they are ready or not.
Emerson wants to establish rules, while Grant wants to break down her walls. But will they be enough for each other? Or will the past continue to come between them and will they ever be able to trust each other?

I was hoping for a book like Bromberg’s SWEET CHEEKS. Instead, this book takes on a very serious subject, , and its lasting effects. The author incorporates her own peripheral experience into the story. I suspect that writing it was not only very emotional for her, but cathartic.

I have been wanting to read/listen to this series for years. I don’t know what took me so long but I’m glad I finally did. Grant and Emmy’s story was a beautiful tale that proves true love will always stand the test of time. Such a sweet love story that at times had me emotional. Possible TW of child abuse, so readers beware. The narrators absolutely did a wonderful job portraying Grant and Emmy.

This was such a sweet and surprisingly emotional story. It is beautifully written with characters that you can't help but love. I can already tell this is going to be an amazing series from K. Bromberg.
Grant is everything you want in a book boyfriend. He is alpha yet can be vulnerable. He is charming and sexy. He is sweet and frustrating. I definitely fell hard for him
Emmy is strong willed and feisty and I think she was perfect for Grant. I enjoyed their banter and seeing the way their relationship progressed throughout the book.
I definitely can't wait to read the other books and see where K. Bromberg decides to take the other characters in this series. I know I am going to absolutely love it!

Wichtiges Thema!

I affection spicy stories with alpha and swoony heroes, and that’s what I got with Cuffed. But this story is also so much more than what I was expecting! Behind all the light and fun, flirty and sexy, there’s really emotional moments that got me teary-eyed. K. Bromberg once again completely charmed me with this fascinating story of friendship, trust, love and second chance!
“Someone once told me that living safely is dangerous… I don’t when to be dangerous, Emerson. I just want to be with you.”
Grant Malone is a sexy police officer that knows how to have a good time. He unexpectedly comes face to face with Emerson Reeves twenty years after she abruptly left town. She’s assuredly not the same eight-year-old girl she was back then anymore. She’s turned into a hot woman who likes to be in control of everything. She doesn’t get attached and certainly doesn’t want to be in contact with Grant again after he broke her trust back then.
“You have to be all in or get all out. There is no halfway when it comes to love.”
I enjoyed Grant’s stubbornness and perseverance in pursuing her to make her realize he missed her all these years. He is the perfect hero. I swooned over his protectiveness and desire to heal her. You clearly see between them that there’s more. They are scorching between the sheets, but also emanate feelings in these scenes. They gave me chills!
“We react in sighs and moans. We feel in emotions.”
K. Bromberg unquestionably penned another sensational novel and started strong this new Everyday Heroes Series. The heartbreak, passion, hope and love radiating from this poignant story is so powerful. Cuffed is a must read and I can’t wait for the next two Malone brothers’ books. After the hot cop, bring me the firefighter and the pilot!
“She need to see the beauty in her ugly.”

Heartfelt
Cuffed makes you feel and get so invested in its characters. One of those books you don't want to put down.
