Still good, but felt like Kate had way less agency in this book. She was sort of just getting dragged along by the current until she exploded and even that didn’t seem to do a whole lot for the plot.

Holy freaky moly can Ilona Andrews write a good book. First, they are SO SO SOOOO good at building chemistry and romance, and Curran and Kate havent even kissed! HOW DO THEY DO THIS TO ME. I am sitting over here drooling over Curran, and I do not do that often. And second, that closing scene! That was extremely sexy, and all he did was whisper in here ear.

This book was again, PACKED with action. Bran was an excellent character, I enjoyed his playfulness. There are some things you learn about how Curran is pursuing his relationship with Kate that just makes you go "awwww." The whole magic/tech thing gets explained a little more in this book too, not too much, but I think I it is starting to make a little sense.

I have the next book checked out from the library, and books 4-9 on hold, because this is a series that needs to be binged on. Oh Ilona Andrews, I love your books.

Curran and Kate will be the death of me.
Her realisation with the food and then his end scene had me laughing and eager to see how they get on.

This is the kind of book that I enjoy and then I put it down and I'm like, "wait a minute, how did...?" I feel as though there were plot holes that didn't totally get filled in, but it's still a fun read.

Loved Bran and Andrea

Dislike large battle scenes

Not super happy that Kate is now responsible for a child, but it provides some sort of anchor

Hoping to get to the Roland stuff soon

Book two of the Kate Daniels series was great. I enjoyed it so much more than the first one. Since the first book explained a lot of the rules associated with this world and introduced many of the characters, now book two could start to uncover more layers in those main characters. Kate and Curran especially grew as characters as we could see more tidbits of the things that made them tick. I like how Andrews doesn't just throw all of the revelations of character in our face. I feel like each character is being revealed to me little by little in each scene as layers of personality are peeled away for us to see. There is still a lot that I don't know or understand about everyone, but I care enough about them that I want to continue to read to find out what I can. It was an enjoyable read for me.

Total LOVE! Kate is a heroine you cheer loudly for and Curran...RAWR. Total alpha and they both make me want more.
