A lot has happened since the last book and Brighton has her hands full with not only her good news but the influx of ..Zombies!! I really liked how we got an answer to something brought up in previous books and it was very interesting seeing how the Skeenbauer witches react to Brighton needing help. Can the war between the Tuttlesmith and Skeenbauer families finally be over or is this just a truce while they try and work out how to stop the horde?! Another great addition to the series and can not wait to see whats next for Remy and Brighton.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was totally confused when this book began. I was sure I had missed a few chapters. I even looked in the previous book in the series, thinking I missed a final chapter or epilogue. Nope. After I regained my footing, the zombies appeared. Zombies. Not my fave, but it’s a fun series so I was all in.

And then it ended. In a cliffhanger. I HATE cliffhangers.

Love this series

This book was something else. It’s definitely darker than the rest of the series, but that’s not always a bad thing. The Skeenbauer Coven are their own worst enemies and jealousy is the root of all of their problems.

Brighton is ecstatic. Six months (or so) after the last book and she's dating the man of her dreams, in fact, he's just proposed. Too bad there are shenanigans afoot. Well, if you can classify zombies as shenanigans. It seems that her fiance's family has been dabbling in dark magics and have caused a worldwide epidemic (is that the word for zombies?).
This book, like the others in this series, is short so it's light on story and character development but it's pretty fluffy and fast to read.

Zombies. This one centers around zombies. Am I serious? Yep. The premise is pretty exciting, where a fairly powerful witch has been fucking around with necromancy and then is murdered right in the middle of her spell (well, shit), but that’s pretty much all that’s interesting about this. There’s a marriage proposal I saw coming from a mile away and there are some funny and cute moments, but this series is starting to go downhill. The writing and editing are getting very sloppy. I’ll keep going (for now) and see what’s next.
