Desgarrador es un adjetivo que suele emplearse en exceso. En este caso, sin embargo, define fielmente el alma de la novela. Un recorrido por la ocupación de Palestina a través de los entresijos de varias generaciones de la misma familia. Abulhawa ha logrado plasmar en palabras sentimientos y sensaciones que traspasan el alma sin caer en clichés ni sentimentalismos baratos. Me ha parecido sublime. Se lo recomendaría a todo el mundo sin dudar.

while this story was good and I did generally enjoy it, I was disappointed because it did not grip me to the level that against the loveless world did!!! I do think this was well written, and I do love an intergenerational family tale, but that disappointment was in the back of my mind as I read it. That being said, I would recommend this book and I’m glad I read it.
