Loved the romance and the growth of the love. Could’ve done without the teen sex, in this specific context, and the details was unnecessary. (I don’t mind acknowledging that teens have sex, but when a book is a romance, it feels inappropriate for teen sex scenes to be intermingled with adult sex scenes.) I appreciated the way the romance was written, it was beautifully written. I did feel the daughter was a bit too precocious, but in general I’m not really a fan of the overly precocious child. They never feel like real children, even precocious ones.

truly one of the best books I’ve read this year. I enjoyed reading about Shane and Eva’s relationship. They were incredibly relatable. I also loved Eva and Audre’s relationship. The depictions of migraines and invisible disabilities were so real. I almost wish we’d gotten more of Audre’s POV! This read was beautiful. Heartbreaking. Wonderful.

MY FULL HEART!!!! i think this is the best romance novel I've ever read, and that's probably because the characters are sooooo well developed!! they are so raw and real. Even though the book is about their love, it explores so much more than that such that it doesn't even feel like its necessarily the center. it's about eva's family history and the cycles of maternal generational parenting strategies. it's about a mother and daughter relationship that grows as the daughter grows. its about alcoholism and drug recovery. its about grief and how death can affect the other relationships in ones life. and I like that their relationship is not just all rainbows and sunshine but affected by their own traumas that they have accumulated in childhood and then after they reconnected. eva and shane both have self-harming habits and that is how they first connect and it is so youthful but also dangerous and all encompassing which makes sense for their characters. then when they reconnect eva is held back by her fears while shane leads with his heart first but is impulsive and risky. i also just think their chemistry is so undeniable and this book had me kicking me little feet and giggling hella. i also love cece I want to be her (other than her marriage)
