MY FULL HEART!!!! i think this is the best romance novel I've ever read, and that's probably because the characters are sooooo well developed!! they are so raw and real. Even though the book is about their love, it explores so much more than that such that it doesn't even feel like its necessarily the center. it's about eva's family history and the cycles of maternal generational parenting strategies. it's about a mother and daughter relationship that grows as the daughter grows. its about alcoholism and drug recovery. its about grief and how death can affect the other relationships in ones life. and I like that their relationship is not just all rainbows and sunshine but affected by their own traumas that they have accumulated in childhood and then after they reconnected. eva and shane both have self-harming habits and that is how they first connect and it is so youthful but also dangerous and all encompassing which makes sense for their characters. then when they reconnect eva is held back by her fears while shane leads with his heart first but is impulsive and risky. i also just think their chemistry is so undeniable and this book had me kicking me little feet and giggling hella. i also love cece I want to be her (other than her marriage)

Eva and Shane really got me in my feels. I don't know if it's because it has been a while since I've read a romance or because Williams just created such raw and touching moments but I felt it in my gut. I loved the growth and pacing of their relationship, but also their own personal journeys. Just a wonderful sultry read for the summer.

On the fence of giving this five stars so that may change. I LOVED this so much. It was such a rollercoaster in the best way possible. Perfect comedic timing. Such strong characters. And oh my god I loved the flashbacks/ multiple timeline that was going on. And the epilogue ✨

The only thing that was a bit confusing at times was the pov. It’s third person omniscient but like- switching between characters in the middle of a chapter. (I’m used to reading books where each chapter is dedicated to a characters thoughts). It was a fun style choice tho and I liked it once I got used to it.
