Very slow. And it seems like the story could have been told in half the book. A lot of filler and unneccessary stuff. Like, mentioning someones race and the clothes theyre wearing and how long theyve been wearing them and where they got it and what color it is, for example.

There was too much crap in this book for me to finish it... I got about 2/3 of the way through just hoping that it would clean up up once they got married, but it didn't. So I stopped reading. I rarely prefer the movie, but in this case I most definitely do.
