MAKE SURE you read the trigger/content warnings.
Okay, so that was way darker than I thought it would be.
I’ve never read an age gap romance before (apart from, well, Twilight and the like) and I didn’t end up enjoying it. But I won’t criticise his age because I knew what I was in for. So, every time Thayer’s hairyness was described I think a threw up a little. But apart from that the romance was fine. The only reason I was attached to Thayer was because his son Forrest was so adorable. He was my favourite character.
WHY THE EFF DID HE HAVE TO DROWN???
Anyway :)
Didn’t really care about the Mum or the sister but luckily they weren’t too prevalent.
There were lot of dark things in this book brief mentions of past SA, Salem’s mum getting cancer, and, I can’t forget, FORREST DROWNING! that felt really random. I don’t know why the author added these things in. They didn’t tie in well.
Anyhow, I’m not a picky reader when it comes to romances so this was fine.
