Detective Helen Grace is still trying to get used to life outside of the prison in this book, #7 in the Helen Grace series. In this book, a passing motorist is gunned down in SouthHampton and a bit later, a shopkeeper is also killed. Are these crimes related? And if so, how and by whom? Detective Grace with her sidekick Charlie and her crew of detectives are on the case.
This is a nail-biter of a thriller that I read in a little more than a day. This book is right up there with all of the other Helen Grace books. The writing is top-notch and the pacing is really fast; it seems the pages practically turn themselves. This book has an interesting approach in that all of the events take place over the course of a single day in London. You don't have to read the Helen Grace books in order but it does help a reader understand some of the references to earlier Helen Grace books. There is no alcohol use and maybe a passing reference to Marijuana and likewise a single reference to sex. These are great thrill rides; if you're not reading them you are really missing out!

Fast paced from the start and pretty much takes place in real time within a period of less than 24 hours. Many surprises and excellent further development of Helen’s character. Great follow on from the previous book.

I'm disappointed with the 7th book in the Helen Grace series. Normally I can glaze over unrealistic sections or plot holes, but this just annoyed me. This book literally has a couple shooting people at point blank range with a shotgun, to then go running around and 'blending in' with crowds. Is there no blood? Is a shotgun not completely un-subtle?! Not to mention the fact that the killer would change her hairstyle AND NOTHING ELSE and suddenly nobody could recognise her at all?! Come on!
Ignoring the above, this had the potential to be great but really let me down. I will read the next in the series, but this might end up being my last.
I also fully hate Emilia Garanita and think she is one of the worst characters I've ever read about.

It was oke. You can clearly tell that the rider used to work for tv production, bc that is how the book is written. But the plot was interesting

The events of the book take place in the course of one day. While it was well written, fast paced and full of suspense, it lacked the mystery and twists, typical of the author. The perpetrator being identified in the early stages of the story didn't help either.
