Did I miss something? I really liked this book but who was behind the robotic voice that Case was talking to?

I prefer my thrillers full of jungle shoot-outs, high seas pirates, corrupt dictators, international smuggling, and evil oil tycoons. Luckily I found this book!

I loved Ludlum's The Janson Directive and was so pleased to find out another of his best characters was being continued in a new series by Paul Garrison. I can't help but compare The Janson Command with 'Directive' and, although it's perhaps not quite as thrilling as Ludlum's original, it certainly doesn't disappoint.

The ice-cool Paul Janson returns with his adversary turned protege, ace sharpshooter, Jessica Kincaid and it is the heroines' involvement that adds both the sense of vulnerability to the unflappable super spy, and the element of jeopardy to the story. We root for Janson, but care for Kincaid, and any time she is in danger makes for nail-biting reading. Especially at around midway through when - tiny spoiler! - she gets 'taken', and the pace of the whole tale picks up and remains pretty high for the rest of the book.

Robert Ludlum is arguably the greatest ever thriller writer and Paul Janson one of his most exciting creations - up there with Bourne. Paul Garrison has taken up the mantle for this new series brilliantly and I look forward to many more.
