I thought this was interesting! It’s a banned book and I spent the whole book trying to figure out why it’s banned. I guess because there’s derogatory language and lgbtqia people? Unclear. Anyways, it’s all about growing up poor and finding out who you are. Then embracing that person no matter what. It was a really slow start for me and it took this character so long to figure out who they were that by the time they did, I had moved on. A good read, but there are better banned books with these themes.
