This reminds me of The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian. I did enjoy this book but it wasn't life changing like some people said it was. This is 100% NOT a young adult book. I would say senior in high schools could read it, but no one younger. If anything it's more of a "new adult" book.
Moderate: Addiction, Alcoholism, Cursing, Abandonment, and Classism
