The Au Pairs book series was evverrrything for me during my pre-teen years. I’ve found it the same time I’ve found Gossip Girl. And probably I was too young for both. That was when I first read about the Hamptons and crazy parties and FASHION and gossip. The entire world shook me to be honest. I was so captured by it. I loved the whirlwind of action and this amazing scene. When I was a pre-teen, my country never got around to translate the fourth book, the final book. So i never read it. Never got to experience the endgame.
Until now.
And the feeling came rushing back. The mid-00s, the Hamptons that I feel called towards ever since i was a kid, this whole lifestyle and this complicated trio.
(And damn, Im so happy Mara and Ryan got to be endgame. They were pretty much my first ship when I was a kid. So I healed my inner child with this whole reading.)

Wrapped up too soon! I needed another 50 pages to settle everything.
This book was definitely the best of the series! Sad that it's over!
I think I’d just like to state the fact that after rigorous switching back and forth between audiobooking and reading this as an ebook, I can say that I’m FINALLY done the Au Pairs series by Melissa de la Cruz.

Besides the fact that I decently enjoyed Beach Lane a couple of years ago, I wasn’t exactly sure what the heck was going on here. This series should not be called The Au Pairs because if there’s something that’s not in here, then it’s definitely babysitting. Except for maybe in the first book . . . because the author knew that she had to put at least something in there related to the title. Maybe even a little bit in this book, because the author must be legally obligated to put in some form of babysitting . . .
Unfortunately, the characters and this series just becomes redundant overall, and I’d lost more than enough interest after reading Skinny Dipping, any faith that I’d really had in this series was just killed off in Sun-Kissed.
I don’t really think I’d recommend this to anyone, but I’d been giving this series a repeated 2-star rating based on the fact that they were extremely quick to get through and that the drama was ridiculous enough to keep me invested. Otherwise, I just finished this series for the sake of knowing what happens at the end.

And besides the fact that Mara and Ryan just . . . ugh. Whatever. Obviously they ended up together because bleh. Also, am I supposed to be surprised by the fact that Mara wrote the Beach Lane series? Not really sure . . .I don’t really think I’d recommend this to anyone, but I’d been giving this series a repeated 2-star rating based on the fact that they were extremely quick to get through and that the drama was ridiculous enough to keep me invested. Although the whole book was filled with drama between the 3 girls, it had a good ending. A happy ending.
I am officially all done with this series! It had many, many low points, but also a couple highs as well. I'm pleased with how everything worked out in the end. Though I wasn't thrilled about one couple pairing, they just don't seem to be good for each other in my mind.
This was a fun read overall, though I'm incredibly glad to be done!

“They’re older, but not necessarily wiser.” That’s the tagline as the world’s favorite au pairs come back to the Hamptons for one last summer fling.
Eliza had a successful freshman year at Parsons and is now opening her own store in the Hamptons. It’s hard for her to juggle publicizing her store and her relationship with Jeremy, however, both of which are moving forward at lightning speed, but only one of which she is certain about for now.
Jacqui finished up her fifth year of high school and is excited to finally attend her dream school, NYU. She falls under the charm of two Australian photographer brothers who try to convince her to try out modeling, something she’s always hated. And Mara suffers what appears to be a setback when her plans to travel Europe as a journalist with her boyfriend David fall to pieces when her passport expires. Stuck with what she believes will be a crappy summer, she agrees to act as au pair for Eliza’s stepmom’s five children, along with Jacqui.
CRAZY HOT promises a hopeful future for the three friends, full of love, success, and passion.

I've read all of the Au Pair series. This I found hardest to put down. The flow and speed of the book was great and you weren't assaulted with constant label dropping. It also answered the BIG question, how do these kids get served alchohol all the time? lol. This is an excellent beach read. Fun, light and a little bit dramatic.
