NOT A REVIEW, JUST MY OWN NOTES:
Counting book as story, always hits
Not too scary for toddlers.
Group quiet and listened rather than participating in the story.
Next time get the kids more involved-- hens clucking etc

Absolutely love it!! A lot of implied story ... brilliantly told and beautifully illustrated.
Masterfully illustrated counting book with a plot. Could work well for story time. Highly recommended for ages 3-6.

I thought this book was quite pretty, but both my 4 and 6 year old were REALLY into it! So that pushed it to 5 stars from our household.
The thriller aspect is very subtle, it is a children's book after all. But the kids loved pointing out all the parts that are countable on each page! They were glad for the disclaimer at the end too
A beautifully illustrated picture book that counts from 1 to 10, and then has 100. This could potentially be scary for children when the fox tries to eat the hens. I would recommend this for a K - 1st grade read aloud.
Oh my this book is amazing! My kindergarten students are going to LOVE it!
Brilliant! Up there with Kevin Henkes in terms of making a story out of just a handful of words or a list.
