Another cute installment of Mure chaos. Parts of this storyline seemed a little lazy and unnecessary but overall enjoyed this one.

Well, the ending was something! I believe it’s setting up for another book, but depending on how that book is done, I won’t be happy with this one! Narrow set of circumstances would make it right.

This romance series has good characters and an interesting (invented) setting, the island of Mure. If you have not read the first four, Ms. Colgan gives a quick two page rundown of the earlier books, so you an just start here.

Flora and Joel are finally getting married...but they have very different ideas about how that should look. And Flora keeps being pulled into other dramas going on around her -- so there may not be a wedding, after all.

This is one of the better books in the series, and the conflicts go a bit beyond the stereotypical romance plot line, though that's here, too. If you want a good, quick escape to another place and its interesting people, this is a good choice.

Jenny Colgan is extremely good at depicting emotions in words that convey how confusing and sometimes contradictory they can be. She is one of the few authors whose books I buy in print.

The miscommunication at the heart of the story was real and frustrating. The OTT wedding plans were bizarre, although I think they were meant to be humorous..

Another reviewer speculated that this might be the final book in the series. It seems to me that the author might be planning to focus on Saif in the next one, since his story remains untold and the Mure series is at a good branching-off point. (Agot continues to be a rather terrifying child, bless her heart.)
